Spring Renewal Nail Art Challenge - Spring Flowers

I haven't had enough time to complete the whole of this challenge, however, I decided I'd try and do at least one of the days.  I had originally planned to do pastel nails, but I didn't think my nails were pastelly enough, so I decided to change them into spring flowers.  I didn't have my dotting tools at hand, and couldn't be bothered to move, so they are very messy flowers... I am going to call them ABSTRACT.  I mean, all art isn't neat and tidy, is it? Haha.  Please don't judge me on these flowers... after all, it's the taking part that counts right?!  I'll be back with better nails next time!!

Glasgow Show 2012

Glasgow Show
21st/22nd July, 2012
Glasgow Green

A little trip down memory lane - here are a few photos I took when I went to the Glasgow Show, back in July 2012.  There was quite a lot to see: birds of prey, daredevil motorcross bike riders, singers and performing ducks, amongst other things.

Week 15 Fingerfood's Theme Buffet - Fishtail

Fingerfood's Theme Buffet
Week 15 - Fishtail

I had a couple of weeks off Fingerfood's Theme Buffet, but I'm back now.  I have never done fishtail nails before, I had an idea what to do, however, I found a tutorial here on Nuthin' But a Nail Thing just so I could make sure I was doing it right!  I'm really pleased with how these turned out.

Queen of the South v Partick Thistle 07.04.13

Ramsden's Cup Final
Queen of the South v Partick Thistle
7th April, 2013
Almondvale (Braidwood Motor Company Stadium), Livingston

2012/2013 was one of Queen of the South's best season's in many years, clinching a league and cup double.  They successfully gained promotion from SFL Division 2 (now named SPFL League 1)  at the first time of asking, after being relegated the previous season, and they also won the Ramsden's Cup in a thrilling match against Partick Thistle - who themselves had a fantastic season winning SFL Division 1 (now Championship), gaining promotion to the SPL (Scottish Premiership).  Here are some pictures I took at the Ramsden's Cup Final, which Queen of the South won 6-5 on penalties.  The match was goalless after 90mins and 1-1 after Extra Time.

#BloggersDoItBetter - Spring

Bloggers Do It Better
Topic 1 - Spring
Pastel Nails

I have been struggling to think of anything Spring-esque that I could do a blog post on and the deadline for posting was approaching super fast, so I decided to stick with what I know and go for nails.  I think pastel nail polish looks nice and fresh for spring, so that's what I decided to do.

I used: Missguided - Missbehave (Pink), Revlon - Blue Lagoon (Blue), High Brow (Purple), Barry M - Lady (Whitey, Silvery Glitter) and Jess - French White (White), as well as some polishes which I made myself.  I then topped all nails off with InVogue Pro Formula Diamond Top Coat (Clear).

I used Barry M (Lady) as it looks a little wintry, this is because the weather is still rather cold in Scotland, and also signifies the change from Winter to Spring. The zig zags also make me think of cracked egg shells, which are appropriate for this time of year too as it is nearly Easter!

Oh and my fingers are a little stained yellow from nail polish remover... at least they aren't red like the last time that happened, THAT was real obvious!

Mossy & Mrs Mossy

Mossy & Mrs Mossy, Red Kites
8th April, 2014
South West Scotland

This is what happens when you 'autocorrect' some already zoomed in photographs, of a fast moving red kite, on a fairly dull day in South West Scotland - the sky looks quite blue in the photo's, but the rest of the sky was covered by a big grey cloud though so there wasn't much sunlight!  Most of the pictures ended up unclear, however, I like the silhouette effect that happened.  Also, please welcome Mrs Mossy, she has been around for a while, however, just not when I have had my camera handy.  Oh, and I'm not actually sure if she is a she, but in my eyes she is.

Talons out, ready to pounce!

I've not posted much this last week, been a little hectic.  Really need to try and organise my time better and save some for blogging!  This weekend I will sit down and make a plan, and get back on top of nail challenges and posts as well as everything non-blog related!

I do, however, have a new photo post!  This set of photos was taken in Kirkcudbright, Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland.  It looks especially lovely with all the daffodils out in bloom.  Spring has Sprung!

Topic 7 - #2014BloggerChallenge - Photo Challenge

I have chosen Saturday 29th March as my Day in Pictures.  I chose this day because I figured there would be lots of things I could take pictures of, in order to make my post interesting!

Most pictures were taken on my ipod, so not brilliant quality, the photos taken on my phone are a little clearer.  Should really start using my camera more!

So, here is my day in pictures:

It's Saturday, so that means a little lie in - isn't my duvet cover cute?!

A good way to spend a Saturday morning lie in is by watching an early morning F1 qualifying session - a very wet Malaysian Grand Prix qualifying to be precise.

I had a quick browse of twitter.
I also checked the latest news, and also facebook and of course my blog.
