Tribal Nail Art

Image
I think I have found my favourite design to do.  Tribal. If I am lacking nailspiration, I know I can do a tribal design, which will look pretty creative and interesting, without having to think too much.  After being away at the Commonwealth Games for a few weeks, not having too much time to do my nails, I decided to get back into nail art by doing a bright tribal design. I used PS Nail Polish (From Primark - £1!) in Orange and Mint Green, as well as a Glow in the Dark PS Nail Polish (Primark - £1.50) in Yellow. The blue I used was Collection 2000 'Blue Hawaii' (Poundland, £1 for 3!). For the detail, I used a black Rio nail art pen and a white nail art pen from Primark. I made a cabochon ring to match my nails!  What is your 'go to' nail art?

Australian Flag Nails

Image
Today, I did these Australian Flag nails in support of Daniel Ricciardo who was starting from 2nd on the grid in the European Grand Prix in Baku.  Both practice and qualifying were very eventful, with a few drivers touching the walls of this new street circuit, and many going down the escape routes, however, the race was probably one of the most uneventful this season.

Guest Post - Doctor Who Nails by Alexandria

Image
Hello Lovelies! I'm Alexandria from A girl and her chicken named Betty and I'm so happy to be guest posting for Emma today! When I asked Emma what sort of nail art I should do, she told me to just do whatever I wanted, and what do I immediately think of when I can do anything I want? Doctor Who of course! I freehanded some of the various Doctor's catchphrases on each nail, my thumb says Brilliant, index is Geronimo, middle is What (one of my favorites from Ten), ring is Allonsy, and my pinkie is Cool. My base is EN-VY blue my mind and I used various blues for the wording, I think the thumb came out the best, the blues go together very nicely! Polishes I used: EN-VY blue my mind, Wet n Wild wild shine I need a refresh-mint, Pure Ice home run, Zoya giovanna, NYC cashmere creme, Lotus Herbals colour dew deep sea, Wet n Wild wild shine clear nail protector, and a detail brush. Thanks for reading and thanks to Emma for having m...

#GetLucky - Irish Inspired

Image
Day Two and the prompt is 'Irish Inspired'.  I have gone for the Irish Flag and some plaid.  I think my nails look Irish-ish, and they feel very bright!! My first time attempting plaid on my nails, and I'm really pleased with how it turned out, I just wish I'd used the same green for it rather than opting for a nail art pen. Next time! I used: Sinful Colors (orange) - Courtney Orange W7 (green) - Matt Green China Glaze (white, thumb) - Snow MUA (white, middle/ring) - All Nude Rio Art Pen (green/yellow). Here are the pictures of my mani: I planned it out (on the wrong hand!!) using templates from www.nail-lacquer.co.uk :)

30 Days of Colour Dec '15 Challenge - 5 - Ugly Sweater

Image
Time for another 30 Days of Colour Challenge prompt, and today's (well, yesterday's) prompt is 'Ugly Sweater'.

30 Days of Colour Sept '15 Challenge - Day 8 - Turquoise

Image
Turquoise is the colour for today's 30 Days of Colour Challenge ! I chose a Cynthia Rowley polish with no name, as it's the closest to turquoise I have!  The polish dried a little streaky, but nothing drastic!  I decided to do an accent nail (with a fishtail braid look), to celebrate having two days off work and being able to wear the polish for more than an hour or two!!  For the nail art I used Rimmel Black Cab and Metal Nails in Silver, and the top coat was PS Gel Effect Top Coat.

30 Days of Colour Sept '15 Challenge - Day 6 - Orange

Image
The Orange I have chosen for today's installment of the 30 Days of Colour Challenge is a PS Nail Polish from Primark and it is a lovely bright orange. The picture shows 2 coats with no top coat!

30 Days of Colour Sept '15 Challenge - Day 17 - Neon

Image
My neon polish for today is an unnamed Cynthia Rowley polish.  I swear it IS neon... it's just very hard to photograph!  It's also very hard to describe... a bright salmony, orangey pink with a hint of red, with a satiny matte finish - that sounds about right?! Pictures show two coats, no base or top coat.
